ANNUAL DUES: Annual dues are $25.00 per player, and must be paid the 1st night of play, or by week 2 of the session, whichever comes first. As soon as a player plays his or hers’ first match, the annual dues must be paid. Otherwise, team will be responsible for the $25.00. Captains are responsible for making sure the annual dues are paid. If dues are not paid, the player will be removed from the team’s roster, and will not be added back to play without approval from a League Operator.
WEEKLY DUES: Team dues are $35.00 per team on league nights. Team dues for Scotch Doubles format are $14.00 per team. All dues must be paid, even if the matches are forfeits. Teams are not responsible for weekly dues if they have a bye.
TEAMS THAT DROP AFTER SESSION HAS STARTED: As soon as the schedule is created and finalized (typically in the first 4 weeks of the session), the session has begun. Any team that decides to drop out after the schedule is final, is responsible for the remainder of total dues owed for the entire session. All debt must be paid (typically divided equally among all team members). Players will not be allowed to play on any APA team until their share is paid.
HOW TO RATE A NEW PLAYER: A new player is defined as never playing APA before. If the player is coming from a different league area with an established APA skill level, he or she must enter this league area with their established skill level. The player must disclose this information with the team in which they are joining. If our office discovers that a player has played in another area and purposely tries to enter our league as a not-rated player, then he or she as well as the entire team (dependent upon circumstance(s)), will be in suspended indefinitely.
New Player:
Males: Start as 4s in 8 Ball format and 9 Ball format
Females: Start as 3s in 8 Ball format and 2s in 9 Ball format
If a new player has ever played APA in the Southeast Texas APA or in any other APA League area before, it is his/hers responsibility to notify both the Captain and the League Operator prior to playing in the league, so that proper skill levels can be applied. Failure to do so could result in disqualification for the member and the team.
In the 9-ball format, female skill level 1s will be raised to a skill level 2 after their first session of play; male skill level 2s will be raised to a skill level 3 after their first session of play. Skill level 1 females and skill level 2 males will not be allowed to play in any HLT (higher level tournament) without approval from the league operator. Consideration or approval will be given only to players with severe medical disabilities.
The Southeast Texas APA does allow person(s) of which are 18 years or older to participate in the league. However, the host location must permit the person(s) whom are under 21 years of age to participate in league play. Also, the person must respect and follow any laws and/or liabilities of the host location. The Southeast Texas APA will not be held liable for anyone that violates the law and/or the liabilities in association with the host location. It will be the person(s) responsibility to abide by such laws and/or liabilities.
LEAGUE PLAY START TIME: The start time is located at the top of the scoresheet. Teams can begin playing even if there is only one opponent team member present. Play is continuous from the start time. If another member is not there to play, forfeit points will be awarded to the team with players present. Team members must be present for the team to receive forfeit points.
HIGHER LEVEL TOURNAMENTS: In the 8-ball format, the team(s) with the highest points at the end of the session will qualify for the Tri-Cup through Division standing and/or through play-offs after each league session.Teams eligible for Tri-Cup is dependant upon highest points within their division when the current session has ended, as well as teams that qualify through the playoff format. The following describes how many teams in one division are eligible for Tri-Cup in the 8 ball Format:

All qualified teams must continue to play in all subsequent sessions to maintain their eligibility, and must maintain a minimum of (4) original team members. In other words, if you qualify in the summer session, your team must continue to play during the fall and spring session. If your team wins the City Tournament (LTC), your team must continue to play in the upcoming summer session to remain eligible to advance to Nationals in Las Vegas.
**IF YOUR TEAM IS QUALIFIED FOR 8-BALL OR 9-BALL LTC (Local Team Championship), YOU MUST REMAIN IN THE TOP 50% THROUGHOUT THE DURATION OF THE APA CURRENT YEAR IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN ELIGIBILITY. If a team does not maintain in the top 50%, the league operator will approve or disapprove whether or not the team will advance to Local Team Championship.
SPORTSMANSHIP: As far as sportsmanship issues go, our league expects our players to represent our league and act accordingly during league play at all host locations, and be respectful to all other players at all times. We respect those whom respect the game of “pool”, and each player’s love for the competitive sport of pool should be reflected in a positive way at all times. If sportsmanship issues are violated, the result could have penalties such as probation and suspension, dependent upon the circumstance(s) involved.
Disputes should be resolved by the two players involved, not by the coaches or captains. If a dispute cannot be settled between players, then the Division Rep can be notified. Any sportsmanship violations can apply; which could result in suspension of a member(s).
If one of a Team’s members is barred from a host location, the team must play with the remaining team members. The Southeast Texas APA has no right to insist upon a host location to allow the barred player.
